That's great, with very good articles on it!!!
(Just kidding, can't read a thing.. ;-) )
Congrats for the launch!
Thank you for mentioning our new site, Danny.
It's great for Hiroyuki and me to launch Sphinn in my country.
Our dream has finally come true.
Our next dream is to hold SMX Japan. :-)
A significantly different design on Sphinn Japan. Is that down to cultural diffeerences (is green unlucky?) or just newer and we'll see something similar soon?
Either way, good luck to you both with sphinn.jp. And Suzukik, don't forget to feed some of the hot stories over here, we want to know what's happening with you.
I like the colors on the .jp site. Looks nice in blue and red.
Congrats to all involved. Very cool.
I'm going to find someone to translate my "Top 21 Signs" posts into Japanese and see if they can make the Greatest Hits page on Sphinn Japan. Wait. Where's the Greatest Hits page over there??
Congratulations Suzuki-san. I hope the community becomes a successful one for you. I'll be sure to check in to see how things progress for you. It looks like you're off to a good start!
What does it run on?
Is it souped-up Pligg, or are have you moved over to something else?
What changes did you have to make, in order to accommodate changes in culture?
I see you use "tag clouds" over there? Is that something that is big in Japan, or a hint as to what is to come here in the future?
What is a "Special User"? Are those the moderators?
How long has it been running? It already has almost 400 users.
I seem to be able to sphinn without regiustering - is that my sphinn.com crossover login or anyone can sphinn over there?
I used a browser that is not logged in to here, and I could sphinn stuff over there too.
That's great, love the rising sun over Sphinn! Japan is a major economy and Internet marketing news will figure majorly in that island country.
Wow, that's cool. In case you plan to expand to Germany make sure to inform me beforehand!
Nice, love the design. Wish I knew Japanese!
That's a really good news...Congratulation Sphinn for the launch!
@g1smd, @rishilakhani thanks for reporting that. will forward to the team in Japan as they've implemented and manage their own platform over there. And profiles have not been shared so if you want to participate as a member at sphinn.jp - you'll need to sign up.
Hi everybody,
I'm very happy all of you are celebrating the launch of Sphinn Japan.
A red "gear" of its logo stands for our national flag called Hinomaru, meaning a rising sun.
Our site is built on Pligg, the same system as Sphinn.com.
My developer, Hiroyuki Sera has totally customized it to adjust it to Japanese language environment.
Nonetheless, some functions doesn't work well, unfortunately.
So far we can't have greatest hits as a categoriy like Sphinn.com.
Michelle gave its file to us but it is so complicated that my developer can hardly understand It.;-
Hiroyuki has been running his own social news site for search engine marketing like Sphinn.com since about a half year before.(Of course in Japanese)
Sphinn Japan is sharing its data(i.e. its submissions and users)
That's why we have had already more then 400 users even though it started just yesterday.
At Sphinn Japan anonymous users can vote while they cannot submit an article.
It is because there are users who hesitate to register.
We Japanese people have a tendency not to want to appear in public.
We are shy, you know. ;-)
Hiroyuki and I have removed that kind of reluctance.
We invited some of the most famous SEM consultants in Japan as "Special User" so that we may give authority on our site.
They will leave a comment from a professional perspective and contribute to Sphinn Japan Blog.
Well, again I am very happy with all of your congratulations.
And I will give special thanks to Danny, Chris and Michelle.
Cool stuff, guys. How about sphinn.eu ? There are a lot of marketers and web specialists based in Europe :D.
@suzuzik Heh. Thanks for answering all those questions and making it clear how everything works.
Does Danny Sullivan read Japanese?
@SEMSEO: iie :)
Cool new site and congrats on the launch!
@rishilakhani
I can sphinn on the english version without being logged in. Heh.
Good luck with the all new Sphinn Japan, looks kewl. :)
